01Overview

Claude Batteryz is a Chrome browser extension that displays your Claude.ai usage limits — current session and weekly — as progress bars in a popup. This Privacy Policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and what rights you have.

By installing or using Claude Batteryz, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

02Data We Access

The extension accesses the following data solely to display your usage information:

Usage limit data — fetched from claude.ai API endpoints using your existing browser session. This includes message counts, percentage utilization, and reset timestamps.
Organization ID — extracted from API response URLs intercepted on claude.ai pages. Used only to construct the correct API request URL.
Account profile — fetched from claude.ai to discover your organization ID when it is not yet cached.

The extension does NOT access:
the content of your conversations, your name or email, payment or billing details, or data from any website other than claude.ai.

03How Data Is Used

All accessed data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

Rendering usage progress bars in the extension popup
Triggering a browser notification when usage reaches 80% or above
Caching the last known usage state locally so the popup loads instantly

Data is never used for analytics, advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond displaying your usage limits.

04Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device using chrome.storage.local.
No data is transmitted to any external server, including servers operated by the developer.
Cached data is automatically overwritten every 5 minutes when the extension refreshes.
You can clear all stored data at any time by removing the extension or clearing extension storage in Chrome settings.

05Third-Party Services

The extension communicates only with claude.ai — the service you are already logged into. No data is sent to third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising platforms.

The extension does not use Google Analytics, Firebase, Sentry, or any similar service.

06Chrome Permissions Explained

storage

Caches usage data locally on your device for instant popup loading.

tabs

Opens claude.ai pages on your request and enables fetching data via an open Claude tab as a fallback.

notifications

Sends an alert when your usage approaches the limit (≥ 80%).

alarms

Schedules an automatic data refresh every 5 minutes without requiring an open popup.

claude.ai host

Required to inject a content script that intercepts usage API responses made by the Claude.ai web app.

07Content Script & Page Monitoring

The extension injects a content script into claude.ai pages. This script operates in two parts:

MAIN world script — patches window.fetch and XMLHttpRequest on the Claude.ai page to intercept responses from usage-related API endpoints only (URLs containing /usage, /limits, /entitlements, /subscription). All other requests are ignored.
Isolated world script — receives the intercepted data and forwards it to the background service worker via Chrome's runtime messaging API.

No conversation content, user input, or general page content is ever read or transmitted by these scripts.

08Children's Privacy

Claude Batteryz is not directed at children under the age of 13. The extension does not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has used this extension, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

09Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the updated policy will be published at:

The effective date at the top of this document will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
